Baw Baw L2P Wins Grants of Over $13,000

Last week was full of awful pressure and brought to a head the imminent threat of closure of our L2P program due to lack of funds and withdrawal of 2 major supporting businesses.
Last Tuesday, 20 Mentors attended a bawbawl2p.org website information session and were introduced to the idea of using bawbawl2p Google Calendar to check the bookings and making bookings and not having to go to the Police station to change, scrub out or add to the diary.

Alberto’s Pizzas supplied us with 8 beaut pizzas, at very short notice.

A number of Mentors put up their hands to be involved in a fundraising sub committee.

Yesterday the letter came through from The Andrews Foundation informing us of a $10,000 Grant. I had previously applied in March but not made the grade and this time round, Mentor Fred Clarke advised me of adjustments and additions needed and the Trustees accepted our application.
This evening, Mentor Peter and myself attended the BB Shire Community Grant Presentation Evening……..we were granted $3,000.

This means we’re financially safe for a while. It shows that mentor’s contributions are valued and precious and the whole community benefits from the time and expertise you all constantly give the program and the kids and now the community has acknowledged this. We need to continue to strike while the iron is hot yes?????
